The BEACON Conference will take place at the Design Offices Heidelberg. It is located in Heidelberg´s newly built district "Bahnstadt" - soon to be the largest passive house estate in the world.

The City

Heidelberg is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. A city of romanticism, it inspired writers and poets like J.W. Goethe. With the river Neckar, the hills surrounding the city and its picturesque Old Town, Heidelberg has something to offer for everybody. It is a city of science with its University being the oldest in Germany. Find out more about Heidelberg here.

Getting to Heidelberg

If you are a BEACON participant, the organising team will get in touch after your registration to organise travel and accommodation. Participants whom are not funded by the project are requested to organise their own travel and accommodation.

Transport options for shorter distances might be available via train (Deutsche Bahn). Please consider this climate friendly option in your planning.

If you are flying, there are several options to reach Heidelberg. Frankfurt or Stuttgart airport could be preferable destinations. From there, different options are available:

Train every 40 min. Travel time: 60 min with one change in Mannheim (or Stuttgart main station if you arrive in Stuttgart airport).
Bus Shuttle Service to and from Frankfurt airport, every 90 min. Travel time: 60 min.
Pre-Order Exclusive Shuttle Service (with car or minivan): a reservation indicating preferred time of arrival and number of people needs to be made in advance.
